Just Outside My Window

One of my favourite places to sit is in our sunroom, although lately there has not been too much sun. Even so the view of the bird feeder is great and with the awful spell of weather we have had the activity at the feeders has been hyper. I snapped these photo's through the window so they are not the best focus but I was pleased with them all the same.

The bird feeders are not the only great view we have. Slieve Snaght, which means Snow Mountain in Irish, can be seen from the kitchen window. The name could not be more appropriate at the moment and while the mountain looks stunning any time of the year, I thought it looked spectacular covered in snow.

TCR #37 - Happy Together

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled across The Color Room an online forum where you can get inspiration and share your LO's with fellow scrapbookers and card makers. Each week a different colour palette is chosen to give inspiration and this week was palette no. 37

This is my LO using that palette - Happy Together, featuring a photo of our twins Amy & Tony. The papers are from Melissa Francis and have been living in my stash for quite a while, probably getting on for 3 years I would say! So it actually feels good to have finally used them.

The bird was punched using my Stampin' Up Bird punch

My anaemia has my energy levels at an all time low, and with the wintery weather we are having too I'm finding it hard to get  motivated - this LO actually took me three days to put together - Crazy!! But hopefully things will start to pick up and I'm looking forward to seeing the next palette from The Color Room.

Cats Are Like Chocolates . . .

its hard to have just one!!  Well in my case it is anyway, you only have to look at my furbaby blog to see that.  A while ago I bought myself a keychain that I found in town which had that very saying on it along with 6 cute cats. The minute I saw it I knew I would be using that saying as a title on a LO and this week I got to do just that thanks to the challenge set on the Scrapology Blog this month. This  is the sketch we were given for the challenge:

And this is my interpretation:

The furbabies from top left are Joshua, Zac, Lola La'Finkle and Murphy
And from bottom left Bailey, Whisker Biscuit, Madison Babycakes and Danny

This LO will fit nicely as the first page of my cat album that I am working on as it introduces all the furbabies.

Hugs

Co-Ordinating Birthday Card & Gift

This week a very dear friend of our's, Rose is celebrating her 77th birthday and I wanted to make her a gift as she always remarks on my LO's and mini albums and loves to sit and look through my albums, particularly those that have LO's of the children in them. I read this short verse in a copy of our Parish newsletter and thought how lovely it was and I was sure that she would like it too:

Happy Moments, Praise God
Difficult Moments, Seek God
Quiet Moments, Worship God
Painful Moments, Trust God
Every Moment, Thank God

This is the framed verse I have made for
her with a co-ordinating card.

And the flowers

Snow Drops & Chocolate Drops

UKScrappers held the 'Scrappy Little Christmas' Cyber Crop at the weekend and although I couldn't join in all weekend long as my sister was visiting from England, I did manage just one class on the friday evening which was set by Maria - Learning To Ski. This LO was my interpretation of the class:

Yesterday I found out that my LO had been chosen as the class winner and I have won a prize from the class sponsor - A Trip Down Memory Lane. Was I excited ? Yes!

Ards Forest NP Mini Album

My work in progress is finished! I am really pleased with how this mini album has turned out. Back in April of this year we went to the Ards Forest National Park in Co Donegal. It is a stunning place, the scenery is spectacular. We had beautiful weather all day long and everyone, including Max & Coco-Bean had a great time. Thankfully Eugene was driving because by the time we got into the car I was exhausted and slept the whole way home.

I have so many photo's from that day which I wanted to scrap so I decided to make a mini album instead. When I got my first Gotta Craft kit though the post I knew straight away these were the papers I was going to use with my Ards Forest photos. The range is Hoopla by Glitz. And best of all, my album is finished and I still have enough of the kit to make at least 2 LO's.

I also used my PaperArtsy Stamps to embellish the pages.

Picture Perfect Bailey

The November challenge in my Sketch & Scrap Group was to take inspiration from  this sketch by July Gaceta:

This is my LO featuring my beautiful furbaby Bailey. I used Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi papers and the title is made using Cosmo Cricket chipboard alphas.

Some close-ups :

I've had this little charm of a cat with a diamonte fish for ages now I cant remember where I got it from. Im so pleased that I finally got to use it, it fits so right with this LO.

Card Making Creations

My energy levels are at an all time low right now so Im not actually getting much done in the way creativity so I thought I would share a few cards that I made a while ago but couldn't share in case the people I made them for just happen to be browsing my blog!

This Twilight card featuring the gorgeous Edward was made for Karen a friend of mine on the Twilight Social Group on UKS. I was a little self-indulgent when I made this as I would like nothing more than to get Edward through the post on my birthday . . lol x

This birthday card was for my Sister Jan using one of my favourite Penny Black stamps x

I made this Popcorn Bear card for a challenge a while back and missed the deadline for uploading so it went into my box of cards and was forgotten until Amy needed a card for a friends birthday last week.

This Thank You card I made for my friend Jacqui who helped me a lot with advice and the loan of some essential equipment while Coco-Bean had her pups. I used the Stampin Up Flutterby Stamp to make the butterflies.

I do have a few projects on the go which should be finished soon, I just need my Mojo back!

WEBDEE1B&W

My name is Dee and I am married with 3 kids. Originally from London, England I now live in rural Co Donegal where my husband originates from. Its a very peaceful life by the sea and right now I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. We share our home with a menagerie of furry-family members as I have a hard time saying no to an animal in need of a home.

I love scrapbooking, taking photograph’s and chocolate!

This blog is my little space on the web to share the scrapbook pages I create, the photographs I've taken and generally have an outlet for any other stuff and nonsense I want to write about.
